This tutorial shows how to paint damage and wear effects on an Imperial Knight from Warhammer 40k<\/strong> (Games Workshop), following a few simple steps.<\/p>\n\n

The Imperial Knight has been customized with green putty and parts from the Iron Wolf Minis Company.<\/a><\/p>\n\n

Lets start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First of all, it is important to mention that the complete tutorial of this imperial knight can be found in issue 15 of Fantasy Figures International<\/a> magazine, where this IK also appeared on the cover.<\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

And now we start with this tutorial: <\/p>\n\n

Small chips are created on the armor, using Model Color German Camouflage Black Brown Camouflage<\/a> 70.822 with a brush.<\/p>\n\n

It is also possible to create wear and tear effects by using Vallejo Environment Rust Texture<\/a> 73.821 with a small sponge.<\/p>\n\n

To highlight the chipping, the lower area is painted using a mixture of Model Color Sky Blue<\/a> 70.961 and Model Color White<\/a> 70.951.<\/p>\n\n

To achieve the same effect on the black areas, use Model Color Neutral Grey<\/a> 70.992 and Model Color Ice Yellow<\/a> 70.858 on the yellow areas.<\/p>\n\n

Follow the same steps in the rest of the figure. Model Color Vermilion<\/a> 70.909 is used for the red areas with a bit of white to highlight some points.<\/p>\n\n

Model Air Bright Brass<\/a> 71.067 and Model Air Chrome<\/a> 71.064 are applied to the lower area of the chipped metal surfaces.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n


Apply Vallejo Pigments Burnt Umber<\/a> 73.110 and Dark Red Ochre<\/a> 73.107 to the metallic parts of the legs with a dry brush, achieving an aged and worn effect.<\/p>\n\n

These same pigments are used on the metal arms of the Imperial Knight.<\/p>\n\n

It should be noted that I used Artis Opus M Series number 1 <\/a>for this battle damage.<\/p>\n\n
