This tutorial shows how to quickly paint a skin using the BSL (Base, Shadow, Light) system<\/strong> of the new Game Color range.<\/strong> In addition, the new Xpress Color paints<\/strong> are used to give the skin a final touch. For this tutorial we used a Cthonian Beserk<\/a> from Games Workshop.<\/p>\n\n

Lets start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figure is primed using Hobby Paint Spray Black 28.012<\/a>. After this step, it is recommended to photograph the miniature as a guide to determine the position of lights and shadows.<\/p>\n\n

Apply Game Color Athena Skin<\/a> 72.107 as the base color for the skin.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

Use Game Color Rosy Flesh<\/a> 72.100, to paint the first lights, taking into account their location by observing the photograph of the primed figure.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

A glaze is applied to smooth the transitions with the base color by mixing equal parts of Game Color Athena’s Skin<\/a> 72.107 and Game Color Rosy Flesh<\/a> 72.100.<\/p>\n\n

The shaded areas of the figure are painted with a mixture of Game Color Succubus Skin<\/a> 72.108 and Game Color Athena Skin<\/a> 72.107 diluted with water In the areas with deeper shadows pure Game Color Succubus Skin<\/a> 72.108 is used.<\/p>\n\n

The points of maximum light are painted with a mixture of Game Color Rosy Flesh<\/a> 72.100 and Game Color Pale Flesh<\/a> 72.003. As an alternative, Game Color Pale Flesh<\/a> 72.003 can be used to further reduce the area of application.<\/p>\n\n

Paint the head in the same manner as the torso.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

Next, apply a glaze of Xpress Color Dark Purple<\/a> 72.409 diluted with water to the elbows, nose, knuckles and some areas of the skin that are connected to metal pipes.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

Finally, reinforce the last highlights where the glazes were applied with Game Color Rosy Flesh<\/a> 72.100 and Game Color Pale Flesh<\/a> 72.003.<\/p>\n\n

As you can see in the back of the following photo, the RedGrassGames<\/a> wet palette has been used throughout the whole process in order to be able to paint during the whole session with the same mixtures and to achieve smoother transitions. I have also used their RGG360 Painting Handle<\/a>, as I find it very useful to hold the miniature while painting.<\/p>\n\n

On the other hand, the Artis Opus S Series 0<\/a> brush was also used to paint this skins.<\/p>\n\n
