This tutorial shows how to paint the turquoise armour of a Space Marine<\/strong>, using the new Game Colour range. For this tutorial we used a MKVI Tactical Space Marine<\/a> (Warhammer 30k) from Games Workshop. <\/p>\n\n

In this first part we will see how to paint the turquoise armour<\/strong>, and in a second tutorial I will show you how to create battle damage and get a Grimdark effect<\/strong>, so you can decide how you want to paint the armour, or how far you want to go.<\/p>\n\n

Lets start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime the miniature using Hobby Paint Spray Black<\/a> 28.012 or Surface Primer Black<\/a> 70.602.<\/p>\n\n

Airbrush a base coat of Game Color Abyssal Turquoise<\/a> 72.120.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

Apply Game Color Turquoise<\/a> 72.024 for the first highlight. Leave the lower areas unpainted to create more intense shadows.<\/p>\n\n

For a second highlight, use a mixture of Game Color Verdigris<\/a> 72.096 and Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119 in equal parts, with a smaller application area.<\/p>\n\n

Finally, apply Game Color Verdigris<\/a> 72.096 to the areas of maximum light.<\/p>\n\n

Use a brush to apply a wash to the entire miniature, using a mixture of 3 drops of Game Color Wash Black<\/a> 73.201, 2 drops of Game Color Wash Blue<\/a> 73.207, 4 drops of Thinner Medium<\/a> 70.524 and 4 drops of Airbrush Flow Improver<\/a> 71.362. Use a brush dampened with Airbrush Flow Improver to remove the wash from the areas of maximum light. Make sure the wash settles into the recesses of the armor.<\/p>\n\n

Outline the joints of the armor with a mixture of Game Color Turquoise<\/a> 72.024 and Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119.<\/p>\n\n

Make a second outline with a mixture of Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119 and Game Color Verdigris<\/a> 72.096, focusing on the edges and areas with more light.<\/p>\n\n

Then add points of light at the edges with Game Color Verdigris<\/a> 72.096 to create more contrast.<\/p>\n\n

Finally, paint the remaining details of the miniature.<\/p>\n\n
