This tutorial will show you how to paint an Ice Energy Axe using the new Game Color range. For the tutorial we have used a miniature from the Cthonian Beserks<\/a> pack from the Votann Leagues (Games Workshop).<\/p>\n\n

Lets start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime the miniature in black using Hobby Paint Spray<\/a> 28.012 or Surface Primer Black<\/a> 70.602.<\/p>\n\n

Apply Game Color Turquoise<\/a> 72.024 to the blade.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

Stipple the blade with Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119, leaving the area near the cutting edge unpainted.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

Using a mixture of equal parts Game Color Turquoise<\/a> 72.024 and Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119, apply another layer of stippling near the cutting edge of the axe to blend the transition into the previous layer.<\/p>\n\n

Paint the inner side of the axe blade with a mixture of Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119 and Game Color Sunrise Blue<\/a> 72.118 to create small energy rays.<\/p>\n\n

Repeat the previous step with Game Color Sunrise Blue<\/a> 72.118 thinned with water, reducing the area of application.<\/p>\n\n

Paint the inner side of the blade with Game Color Dead White<\/a> 72.001 thinned with water to create a great contrast.<\/p>\n\n

To create a glowing effect on the handle of the axe, paint the parts near the blade with a mixture of Game Color Abyssal Turquoise<\/a> 72.120 and Game Color Turquoise<\/a> 72.024.<\/p>\n\n

Enhance the edges of these areas with a mixture of Game Color Aquamarine<\/a> 72.119 and Game Color Sunrise Blue<\/a> 72.118.<\/p>\n\n

To create an even greater contrast, paint the edge of the axe with a mixture of Game Color Abyssal Turquoise<\/a> 72.120 and Game Color Turquoise<\/a> 72.024.<\/p>\n\n
