In this simple tutorial, we will see how to quickly create lava bases for our miniatures and wargames. In my case, I will use these lava bases for the Salamanders Space Marines chapter, from the Warhammer 40k game.<\/p>\n\n

Let’s Start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preparation<\/h2>\n\n

Firstly, the bases are prepared adding some cork. In addition, we can add other elements such as stones or rocks.<\/p>\n\n

In this case I used Spellcrow rocks<\/a>in addition to the cork. They also have all kinds of sizes.<\/a><\/p>\n\n

Green stuff<\/h2>\n\n

Using green stuff<\/a>, small balls of different sizes are created and glued to the base. The objective of these small balls will be to create the bubbling lava effect.<\/p>\n\n

PVA glue<\/h2>\n\n

Apply a generous layer of PVA glue all over the base. This layer will hide the texture that some bases have, as well as an ideal base to simulate lava.<\/p>\n\n

Result<\/h2>\n\n

They are left to dry for several hours. T he result once dry will be the following. The bases are ready to begin the painting process.<\/p>\n\n
