To celebrate the launch of the new “Fire Fury”<\/strong> paint set by Vallejo<\/strong>, which contains all the paints you need to paint fire and lava effects<\/strong>, I have prepared this tutorial where I will show you how to paint muzzle flash effects<\/strong> in a very simple way using the paints that come in this new set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s Start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Primer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, a white primer<\/strong> is applied, using Hobby Paint Spray White<\/a> 28.010 or Surface Primer White<\/a> 70.600 if we use airbrush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wet Blending<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Game Color Moon Yellow<\/a> 72.005 is applied on the base<\/strong>of the light effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, Model Air Orange<\/a> 71.083 is used on the rest of the surface, and using a clean brush, with both paints still wet, the wet blending<\/strong> technique is carried out tofuse the yellow and orange<\/strong>to create a simple gradient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Model Color Vermilion<\/a> 70.909 is applied on the upper area<\/strong>, and the same wet blending technique is done in the same way as in the previous step, merging the red with the orange<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We repeat<\/strong> steps 2, 3 and 4 again, to get good gradient<\/strong> and coverage<\/strong>of the colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this whole process, I recommend using a wet palette<\/strong> since it will help us to have our paints in perfect condition and make this wet blending in a more precise way. I use the RedGrassGames wet palette <\/a> , because I think it is the best on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Game Color Moon Yellow<\/a> 72.005 is mixed with water to create a wash, and is carefully applied over the entire surface, focusing on the nooks and crannies and internal parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apply some diluted<\/strong>Model Color Hull Red<\/a> 70.985 on the tip of the muzzle flash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A mixture of Model Color Ice Yellow<\/a> 70.858 and Game Color Moon Yellow<\/a> 72.005 is applied to some of the internal parts of the flare<\/strong>. Model Color Ivory 70.918<\/a> is used to paint some dots at the base of the muzzle flash effect to achieve points of maximum light<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
