This tutorial shows the second part of how to paint a purple dragon with the Vallejo paint set<\/a>. In it, we will finish painting this dragon, painting the horns, claws, eyes and the base.<\/p>\n\n

It is important that you check the previous tutorial (Part 1) in order to continue with the process.<\/p>\n\n

As we mentioned in the previous tutorial, this fantastic miniature has been printed in resin by the ” Alchemy 3D prints<\/a> ” company. The design of the miniature is carried out by “Lord of the Print” and is a great version of the dragons from Dungeons and Dragons.<\/p>\n\n

And now… Let’s start with the tutorial!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

claws and mouth<\/h2>\n\n

1.- All the claws and teeth are painted using BoneWhite Game Color<\/a> 72.034.<\/p>\n\n

2.- On these claws and teeth a wash is applied using Game Wash Umber Wash<\/a> 73.203. Very diluted glazes are applied over the mouth using Game Color Gory Red<\/a>72.011 to add a reddish tone to the mouth area.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

3.-The claws and teeth are highlighted using Game Color Bonewhite<\/a> 72.034 and in the final part of all of them a bit of Model Color Ivory<\/a> 70.918.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

The tongue is painted using Game Color Gory Red<\/a> 72.011, and it is highlighted with the stippling technique using a mixture of this red and Model Color Magenta 70.945, to finally apply some final touches of pure Magenta.<\/p>\n\n

Eyes<\/h2>\n\n

5.- To paint the eyes, Game Color Golden Yellow<\/a>72.007 is applied all over the eye, and once dry, a fine line is painted using Game Color Black<\/a> 72.051 to paint the pupil.<\/p>\n\n

6.- To finish with the eyes and give them a shiny effect, a small dot is applied using Game Color Dead White<\/a> 72.001 on the upper part of the eye.<\/p>\n\n

Base and Horn<\/h2>\n\n

7.- With the base primed in black, Model Air Neutral Grey <\/a> 71.051 is used with the help of an airbrush and after that, we apply Game Air Stonewall Grey<\/a> 72.749 in the higher parts.<\/p>\n\n

8.- On the ground and lower parts of the rocks, using the airbrush, a first pass of Model Air Dark Earth<\/a> 71.029 is applied, and after that, Model Color Flat Earth<\/a> 70.983 to illuminate it.<\/p>\n\n

9.- We cover the Dragon’s head, leaving only the upper horn, andModel Color Chocolate Brown<\/a> 70.872 is applied.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

10.- Using an airbrush, do a first pass of Bonewhite Game Color<\/a> 72.034, leaving the brown from the previous step on the bottom. Finally, Model Color Ivory<\/a> 70.918 is applied on the top of the horn.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

11.- A wash is applied to the horn using Game Wash Umber Wash<\/a> 73.203. On the base rocks, Game Wash Black Wash<\/a> 73.201 is used.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

12.- The horn is illuminated using a mixture of Bonewhite Game Color<\/a> 72.034 and Model Color Ivory<\/a> 70.918, increasing the luminosity in the upper parts of the horn.<\/p>\n\n

13.- On the ground of the base, a dry brush is applied using Model Color Dark Sand<\/a> 70.847. On the gray rocks, a generous dry brush is applied using Cold Grey Game Color<\/a> 72.050 and after that, a more selective dry brush is applied on the corners with Stonewall GreyGame Color<\/a> 72.049.<\/p>\n\n

14.- Vallejo Pigments <\/a>Faded Olive Green 73.122 is used on some points of the rocks to generate a dirty effect. To finish, we paint the rest of the details like the skulls of the base<\/p>\n\n
