How to paint red OSL light effect on gem

This tutorial shows how to paint a reddish OSL light effect on a gem easy and fast. For this step by step, a miniature from the “Sons of Thor” range of the Kromlech company has been used.

Let’s Start!

1.- The gem is painted using Model Color White 70.951.

2.- Using an airbrush, the exterior of the gem is painted using Game Air Dead White72.701

3.- The gem and its surroundings are painted using an airbrush andGame Ink Red 72.086.

4.- To increase the intensity, the entire gem is painted using Model Color Orange Fluo 70.733

5.- The interior of the gem is painted by tracing a thick white line, using Model Color White 70.951.

6.- Over this white color, Model Color Orange Fluo 70.733is applied again, increasing the intensity on the inside.

7.- Reducing the area of ​​application and carefully, paint a fine line of Model Color White 70.951.

8.- Finally, a mixture of Model Color Orange Fluo 70.733 and Model Color Yellow Fluo 70.730 is applied over this fine white line, creating a greater lighting effect.
