In this tutorial we will show how to paint turquoise armor with some battle damage quickly and easily. For this we will use an ogre of the Mortian company, which are a fantastic alternative to the Ogryns of the Astra Militarum for Warhammer 40k.
Let’s Start!
Primer
To begin, a black primer will be used. Surface Primer Black 70.602 can be used both with a brush and with an airbrush or, otherwise, use directly Hobby Paint Spray Black28.012.
Airbrush
A mixture of Mecha Color Turquoise 69.023 and a little Model Air Black 71.057 is made and applied throughout the armor using the airbrush.
Mecha Color Turquoise 69.023 is applied using an airbrush, this time focusing on the areas of maximum light, leaving the recesses and lower areas unpainted.
Edge Highlighting
For all this process, the use of a wet palette is highly recommended. In my case I use the RedGrassGameswet palette, which I consider to be the best on the market.
Also, for this edge highlighting I have used the 00 size brush by RedGrassGames .
If you are in Spain you can buy these products at Frikland the best price.
Using the brush, edge highlight the entire armor, with a mixture of Model Color Turquoise 70.966 and Model Color Blue Green 70.808.
Another edge highlighting is done, but this time focusing only on the corners and edges, using a mixture of Model Color Blue Green 70.808 and Model Color Sky Blue 70.961.
Fast battle damage
To create some battle damage quickly and easily, some scratch effects are painted using a dark brown. In this case I have used a mixture of Model Color German Camouflage Black Brown 70.822 and Model Color Black 70.950.
To finish with the armor, Model Color Sky Blue 70.961 is applied very carefully at these points, to generate a damage effect on the armor.
And here another example of Mortian Ogre with the armor finished:
Final result
Here you can see the final result of these 2 Mortian ogres . I think they are fantastic ogryns for a Kill Team or Astra Militarum army. Do not you think?
