This tutorial shows how to paint a deep green armor, which can be used to paint a Space Marine from the Salamanders chapter, using the Game Color range.
For this tutorial, a Desolator Space Marine (Warhammer 40,000) from Games Workshop was used.
Welcome to a new Warhammer 40k tutorial! As many of you know, I’m a real Warhammer 40K fan and one of my favourite factions are the Space Marines. Although I paint Marines from all chapters, the Salamanders, alongside the Space Wolves, are my favourite chapters.
I hadn’t painted a Leviathan Dreadnought to date, so when I saw the spectacular bits released by LiberDaemonica, I couldn’t resist customising the Games Workshop plastic kit and painting a Leviathan of the XVIII Legion.
Before I begin, I would like to tell you that the complete tutorial on how I painted this Dreadnought can be found in the new issue of Fantasy Figures international magazine (issue 24).
The Lion has arrived! Games Workshop sent me this great primarch before its release so I could paint it, and here are the final pictures.
I have painted 3 different heads of this Primarch so you can see what each of them looks like. Personally I like all 3, so I think it would be a great idea to magnetise them to use each one depending on the situation or the one we want to take into battle.
You can see my painted miniature and other cool Primarchs painted by the community on the Warhammer Community website.
This tutorial shows how to paint a yellow armor in a few simple steps. This tutorial can be used to paint yellow armor of all kinds, such as Warhammer 40,000 Imperial Fists space marines.
We have used the “Heavy Prime Strikers” figure from PuppetsWar.
Here I show you a quick video about how to paint weathering effects on your miniatures.
This is valid for any armor or vehicle of Warhammer 40.000 or any other wargame.
Here are the steps explained in the video:
1.- Paint the shoulder pad / miniature using the colors you prefer.
2.- Create some chipping, use a sponge or brush and your lightest highlight color. Then use a dark brown color over the previous chips.
3.- Use oil paints to create some streaking effects. I have used AMMO Rust oilbrusher because it makes the process easier, but you can use any oil paint. Apply it and wait 1-2 minutes. After that use white spirit to blur it and its done!
The Salamanders are one of my favorite Space Marine Chapters. That’s why when the indomitus box with new Primaris space marines Outriders was released, I wanted to get the box to paint them.
In this first tutorial, we will see how to customize the miniature and how to paint the armor of a Salamander Space Marine. Do you want to see how I have customized and painted this miniature?
Well… Let’s go! How to paint Primaris bikes from the Salamanders chapter:
